• Develop a professional network of American and international colleagues?
Offered September through June, the Academic Year Certificate Program (AYCP) is a nine-month full time program for advanced English speakers designed to provide you with the core skills and knowledge needed to work in a range of professional fields.
Offered in partnership with the University of California, Extension Programs, AYCP can help you develop the critical skills and specialized knowledge needed to meet anticipated future needs in many kinds of careers. You can also get practical work experience and develop a professional network of American and international colleagues.

Optional Practical Training
Students who successfully complete the full
requirements for any 9-month certificate may apply
to obtain paid work for up to 12 months in their
field of study in the US. This allows students an
opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired in the
classroom to a practical work experience off campus.
The work experience is called Optional Practical
Training (OPT). The University of California,
Riverside will assist students with their OPT
application; however, students are responsible for
finding their own job opportunity.
